When household waste is incinerated in the grate firing processes, the residues are called incinerator bottom (IBA) ash or slag. This IBA comprises considerable inert residues with varying fractions of different scrap metals and a certain amounts of only partially combusted waste.
Technology:
An IBA recycling process enables valuable secondary raw materials (iron, copper, aluminium etc.) to be recovered mechanically, sorted and collected for re-use, either with the aid of corresponding separating equipment, such as screens, ferrous or non-ferrous separators and wind sifters, or by way of manual sorting.
Depending on the objectives of a particular project, various secondary raw materials can be recovered from the IBA. In this respect STRABAG has long experience in both, design and build and operation of numerous plants throughout Germany.
From the initial conception through to a turnkey IBA recycling plant, we offer reliable and cost effective solutions for the processing of IBA. As a member of the STRABAG group we are furthermore one of only few companies which can draw upon experience from the operation of numerous own plants.
